Getting Started
Welcome to the Zimmer documentation. Zimmer is a high-performance, local-first AI workspace for macOS. Follow this guide to get up and running in minutes.
1. Installation
Download the Zimmer.dmg, drag it to your Applications folder, and launch. Zimmer requires macOS 13.0 or later and is optimized for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4).
$ hdiutil attach Zimmer.dmg
2. Model Setup
On first launch, Zimmer will automatically detect your system RAM and suggest the optimal model size. We recommend starting with Llama 3 (8B) or Mistral Nemo (12B) for a fast, responsive experience.
3. Indexing your Workspace
To enable 'Project Mode', drag your project folder into the Zimmer window. Zimmer will index your files locally using vector embeddings for instant context retrieval.
