Zimmer is built local-first. Most of your data lives exclusively on your personal device. This page explains how to delete your account, your entitlement records, and your local data.
1. Deleting Your Account in the App (Android)
To delete your account directly inside the Android application:
- Open Zimmer for Android.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm your decision.
When confirmed, the app deletes your server-side account records and permanently removes your local conversations from the device.
2. Deleting Your Account Without the App
If you no longer have access to the Zimmer application, you can submit an account deletion request via email:
Email your request to: support@zimmerapp.co
Please send the email from the email address associated with your Zimmer account so we can verify ownership.
Important: Do NOT include passwords, conversations, prompts, voice recordings, attachments, or purchase tokens in your email. We do not require or want access to your private content.
3. What Is Deleted Upon Account Deletion
When your account deletion is processed:
- Firebase Authentication identity: Your user identity, stored email address, and authentication metadata are permanently removed from Google Firebase.
- Account & entitlement records: Your trial state, lifetime entitlement records, and version data are deleted.
- Registered device keys: Cryptographic fingerprints of your device keys are permanently deleted.
- On-device conversations (In-App Deletion): When deleting via the app settings, your local chat history, search indexes, and stored prompts are removed from your device upon your confirmation.
4. Local Data Only vs. Signing Out
- Delete Local Data Only: In Zimmer for Android (Settings → Delete local data from this device), you can clear all locally stored prompts, responses, and search indexes without deleting your account or losing your purchase entitlement.
- Signing Out: Signing out does not delete any data. It simply locks and renders local conversations inaccessible until you sign back in with the same account credentials.
5. Retained Purchase Data & Reconciliation
If you purchased Zimmer Lifetime, we retain a pseudonymised record of that purchase after account deletion. In this record, your account identifier is replaced with a one-way derived cryptographic value.
Why we keep this: We retain this pseudonymised record solely so Google Play and Stripe refunds, chargebacks, and cancellations remain reconcilable after the account is deleted, and to prevent duplicate fraudulent claims. This record grants access to no features or services.
Irreversibility Warning: A lifetime purchase cannot be restored or transferred to another account after you delete your account. If you delete your account and later create a new account, previous purchases will not carry over.
6. Deleting Zimmer for macOS Data
On macOS, Zimmer stores all conversation history, downloaded models, and agent settings locally. To completely remove Zimmer for macOS:
- Quit the Zimmer application.
- Delete the Zimmer application from your
/Applications folder. - Delete the application support folder:
~/Library/Application Support/Zimmer. - (Optional) Remove any Zimmer API keys or tokens stored in your macOS System Keychain via the Keychain Access application.
